Lived & Living Experience
People who use or have used drugs lead our work at every level. We believe those closest to the problem are closest to the solution.
Harm Reduction
We endorse the Principles of Harm Reduction and believe policies should follow what actually keeps people alive, safe, and connected. We support any positive change and advance strategies that reduce death, disease, stigma, and structural harm.
People Over Punishment
Every harm associated with drug use is either caused or worsened by prohibition. We work to end the War on Drugs and invest in people and communities harmed by these policies.
Autonomy & Self-Determination
People have the right to make decisions about their own bodies and their lives. We demand a continuum of care that treats people with dignity and respect, centering their voice, values, and priorities at every step.
Collaboration & Solidarity
We believe drug policy is inseparable from struggles against racism, poverty, criminalization of sex work, housing instability, ableism, and attacks on LGBTQ communities. We build relationships across movements and follow the leadership of those most impacted, knowing our futures are bound together.
Evidence + Experience
We value both high-quality research and the expertise that comes from living with drug use and drug policy. Our work is strongest when research and real life inform each other.
